Become a Run Leader

Thank you for showing an interest in becoming a run leader with Re-value.

We are looking for people who wish to support the organisation in the carrying out of its social, health and well being initiatives and who can, by their own enthusiasm, promote the organisation and its aims in the local community in which they live.

How can I get involved?

You don’t need to have any previous experience of leading a group of runners to become a leader, what you need is:

  • Social awareness
  • A supportive nature
  • Enthusiasm
  • Some free time
  • To enjoy meeting new people
  • To enjoy running

What do I need to do next?

If you think the above sounds like you, please contact us so we can arrange to meet with you to discuss the next steps i.e.

  • Meet with us to find out a bit more about the organisation and what’s it’s aiming to do in your area.
  • Take part in a one-day training session, to achieve your Leadership in Running Fitness qualification. (Support given).
  • Sign up as a qualified Re-value run leader
  • Get your group up and running and begin supporting the organisation. (Support given).

Why do I need to be trained?

The Leadership in Running Fitness training course, is a UK Athletics accredited qualification, which once achieved, provides a nationally recognised qualification, leaders licence and required insurance cover.

Re-value is working in partnership with  “Run in England” England Athletics new national running network supported by Sport England and being delivered by the highly successful Women’s Running Network.

The partnership has been set up so that Re-value can access the support and assistance of this national initiative to achieve its aims and so that Run in England can benefit from Revalue’s runners contributing to its overall aim of seeing 50,000 people take up running across England by 2013.

Further to this, once you have signed up as a Re-value run leader, regular catch up sessions for leaders, will be organised by Re-value in order to give leaders the opportunity to meet each other, find out what the charity is up to and to discuss any leader issues that may arise.

A range of activities and initiatives will be developed for leaders to get involved in, if they wish, as the organisation establishes itself and the number of running groups and runners grow.

So what’s stopping you from taking the first step to becoming a run leader while supporting a locally based charity that you can get involved in, by contacting us now?

Thank you.
